LA ENCARNACIÓN CHURCH

Inglés
Descripción/Más info:

This church is located in the Plaza Nueva. It is considered the first temple of the Counter-Reformation. It was built during the late 16th and the early 17th century by Juan de Herrera on the ruins of the olde mosque. Particularly highlights its side bell tower, probably built by Diego de Siloé.

It was recently restored to mark the 400th anniversary of its construction.

The figure of the Virgen de la Antigua, patron of the town, is on the main altar of the church.
